CPSC Compliance Program Best Practices

Summary

This practice note addresses the reporting requirements of the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) and includes a focus on Section 15(b) and Section 37 of the Consumer Products Safety Act (CPSA). This note also reviews Section 102 of the Child Safety Protection Act (CSPA). Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the CPSC has made changes to the process for reporting issues, such as a product recall, to the agency and this note addresses those recent, key changes. It also gives guidance on why and how to create a CPSC compliance program.
