This practice note discusses the workers' compensation system in British Columbia. In particular, it describes the purpose of the workers' compensation system in British Columbia, explains the different branches of the Workers' Compensation Board (the Board), highlights special claims issues which may be of particular interest to employers, and provides an overview of recent amendments, and potential future revisions, to the Workers Compensation Act, R.S.B.C., c 1 (the Act) and other associated legislation.
