Venue Rental Agreement


Summary

This template is an agreement to rent a venue for an event. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and alternate and optional clauses. A venue rental agreement is between an owner or manager/operator of a venue facility and an individual or entity that wishes to rent the facility for a short-term for the purpose of hosting an event, often a corporate sponsored event. These arrangements are sometimes referred to as location agreements or event space rental agreements. The initial draft of a venue rental agreement is usually prepared by the owner of the rental space (the lessor) and will therefore include terms favorable to the lessor. Counsel for the party that is renting the facility and hosting the event (the lessee) must therefore carefully review the agreement's terms prior to the client executing the contract. As each rental may entail unique issues and concerns based on the type of venue and the anticipated event and activities that will take place, additional terms and legal considerations not addressed in this template may be warranted for certain transactions.
