Summary

This template is a social media policy that establishes rules and guidelines for employees' social media activities to reduce the legal risks associated with employee use of social media. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and an optional clause. To ensure that employees understand their responsibilities under the policy and the consequences for violating it, employers should also distribute a standalone policy to each employee with its own acknowledgement. The employee should sign the Social Media Policy Acknowledgment template and the employer should place it in the employee's personnel file.
