Signature Pages for Will and Self-Proving Affidavit
(Remote Notarization) (NJ)

Summary

This clause consists of signature pages and a self-proving affidavit that should accompany a will if the testator does not sign the will in the physical presence of the notary, but rather, signs the will remotely using video communication technology. It is for use in New Jersey. This clause includes practical guidance and drafting notes. New Jersey law allows a notary public to notarize a document, including a will, for a signer who appears before, but is not in the physical presence of, the notary public. See N.J. Stat. Ann. § 52:7-10.10. This clause assumes that the witnesses are physically present at the time the testator signed the will, but they appeared before the notary using communication technology when executing the self-proving affidavit. For complete will templates, see Will for Single Individual (Optional Trust(s) for Children) (NJ) and Will for Individual with Spouse or Partner (Optional Trust(s) for Spouse and/or Children) (NJ).
