Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement

Summary

This release and waiver of liability agreement template is for use between a sponsor of, and a participant in, an event that involves driving or riding vehicles, as well as the owner of the property where the driving or riding event will take place. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and alternate clauses. The agreement is signed by a customer or person that wants to participate in the riding event, and provides that the participant may not sue the sponsor and its employees and agents, and further releases them from any claims or liabilities, for any personal injury or property damage that may be sustained while taking part in the event. The agreement includes an acknowledgement of the risks associated with involvement in the event, and also requires the participant to provide the sponsor and other released parties with indemnification for any loss or damage they may cause while participating in the event. This template can be modified to address the particular circumstances surrounding the riding event or any specific concerns the sponsor may have regarding potential liability.
