Summary

This chart illustrates the typical life cycle of a private equity fund (the Fund). Note that a fund sponsor will generally time the life cycles of funds with a similar investment objective to overlap each other (fundraising for and investing a successor fund while the predecessor fund is harvesting its investments). This enables the sponsor's investment team to constantly be identifying and making investments in a particular market sector or industry.
