Prescription Cost Control Assistance State Law Survey


Summary

This practice note is a 50-state survey addressing statutes and administrative codes in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands controlling prescription drug prices and programs providing for assistance in accessing drugs. Legislators have addressed the need to control rising prescription drug costs and pass savings along to consumers in a variety of ways. Surveyed issues include generic drug substitution, discount drug programs, and unused prescription donation programs.
