Praecipe to Settle, Discontinue, and End
(PA)

Summary

This template is a praecipe to settle, discontinue, and end. You should use this template to notify a Pennsylvania court of a settlement and to direct the court to discontinue the case. This template contains practical guidance and drafting notes. A settlement between the parties resolves some or all of the claims of the parties. Under most circumstances, a settlement agreement between the parties has the effect of a binding and enforceable contract. See Mastroni-Mucker v. Allstate Ins. Co., 976 A.2d 510, 518 (Pa. Super. Ct. 2009). Familiarize yourself with the applicable state and local rules and practice regarding the praecipe to settle, discontinue, and end, including Pa. R. Civ. P. 229, before approaching this task and editing this template.
