This practice note will discuss political risk insurance, hereafter called ''PRI.'' Although clearly not a life and health insurance product, it is not a property, casualty, or property & casualty product either. This practice note will discuss its nature and who may be interested in it. Also addressed are variations of PRI, what and who is insured under it, underwriting issues, coverage triggers, exclusions, exceptions, benefits available, and how and from whom PRI may be obtained.
