Summary

This Packaging and Labeling 50-state survey covers state laws and regulations pertaining to packaging and labeling of consumer products. This survey addresses the adoption of the Uniform Packaging and Labeling Regulation (Handbook 130) and/or federal regulations and various restrictions on quantity and formatting. Highlighted issues include (1) the adoption of national Handbook 130 and/or federal regulations; (2) quantity exaggeration; (3) label formatting; (4) discount price declarations; and (5) slack fill/standards of fill.
