OHIO SAVINGS BANK, APPELLEE, v. AMBROSE ET AL., APPELLEES; ENGERT ET AL., APPELLANTS, 56 Ohio St. 3d 53

Summary

The purchasers bought certain property at a foreclosure sale, but, prior to confirmation of the sale by the trial court, the debtor redeemed the property pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code § 2329.33. The bank filed a motion to confirm the sale, but the trial court denied the motion and set aside the sale. The purchasers appealed, and the court of appeals dismissed the appeal due to the purchasers' lack of standing. On appeal, the court held that the court of appeals was correct in dismissing the purchasers' appeal because the purchasers had no vested interest in the property prior to confirmation of the sale by the trial court and, as a result, the purchasers had no standing to appeal when the trial court subsequently denied confirmation.
