Summary

This practice note will alert practitioners to developments in Michigan's auto insurance laws. Some of the legislation is new, and some modified or adapted from existing law and basic insurance principles, with certain provisions already effective and others going into effect during 2023. The Michigan auto insurance overhaul applies to policies that were issued or renewed after July 1, 2020.
