This precedent contains written special resolutions of the members of a British Columbia society to cease to be a member-funded society under the British Columbia Societies Act, S.B.C. 2015, c. 18 ("BCSA"). This precedent includes practical guidance, optional clauses and drafting notes. If a member-funded society ceases to meet the eligibility requirements for a member-funded society, it must immediately alter its constitution to remove the member-funded society statement. If this occurs, the society does not need to pass a special resolution in order to file a constitution alteration application removing the member-funded society statement. However, the society may wish to make changes to its bylaws to remove provisions that conflict with the requirements in the BCSA for societies that are not member-funded societies.
