These process maps provide an overview of the M&A transaction process. M&A transactions are consummated in one of two ways: the signing and closing occur simultaneously (referred to as a "one-step" or "sign and close" transaction) or the closing is deferred after the signing until the satisfaction or waiver of specific conditions (referred to as a "two-step" or "sign then close").
