Letter to Client (Undertakings) (ON)


Summary

This precedent is a standard letter to clients requesting their answers to undertakings given at questioning in Ontario. This precedent includes practical guidance, drafting notes, alternate clause, and optional clauses. After questioning, counsel will request from the person that was questioned, their responses to undertakings, refusals and under advisements. A letter should be sent to the client reminding them to provide the documents or information they undertook to provide during questioning. If applicable, the letter can include an authorization allowing the lawyer to request documents on the client’s behalf.
