This template is a letter to a client at the time of the attorney's engagement to inform the client in a California matter about the firm's anticipated use of artificial intelligence (AI). According to the State Bar of California, "[a] lawyer should consider disclos[ing] to their client that they intend to use generative AI in the representation, including how the technology will be used, and the benefits and risks of such use."
