This practice note discusses the steps attorneys can take to protect landlords in retail Chapter 11 bankruptcies. Chapter 11 retail bankruptcies have dramatically increased in recent years. One of the initial causes of this increase is the rise of e-commerce and the corresponding increase in competition from online competitors. The coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated these problems.
