This joint tortfeasor's release and settlement agreement is for use to release and discharge joint defendants from tort claims brought by plaintiffs in a Pennsylvania court in consideration of an agreed upon amount. This template includes practical guidance and drafting notes. Pursuant to Pennsylvania's Uniform Contribution Among Joint Tortfeasors Act, 42 Pa.C.S. § 8321, et seq., parties may agree to the reduction of the plaintiff's damages against all other joint tortfeasors to the extent of the released tortfeasor's pro rata share. 42 Pa.C.S. § 8327.
