Summary

This Practice Note sets out the emergency arbitrator procedure available to parties under the 2017 International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Rules of Arbitration (2017 ICC Rules). The procedure is to enable parties to obtain emergency interim or conservatory measures before the tribunal has been constituted. The emergency arbitrator proceedings are set out in article 29 and Appendix V of the ICC Rules.
