Summary

This practice note addresses the H-1B visa—a frequently used professional worker visa which is often in short supply. This nonimmigrant visa category has several advantages including, among others, the permitted length of stay, the flexibility to change employers, the ability to concurrently pursue permanent residence, and the ability to be accompanied by dependents.
