Summary

This template should be utilized when the lien claimant or potential lien claimant has received payment in full for its entire contract amount for the project. This template includes practical guidance. A full unconditional waiver of lien should be given when the lien claimant or potential lien claimant has received payment in full for its entire contract amount for the project, including all additions and extras to the contract. This type of waiver should only be given in exchange for a certified or cashier's check, or cash. If an ordinary check is given, the lien claimant should wait for the check to clear before providing such a waiver. MCL § 570.1115(2)..
