Foreign Trade Zones

Summary

This practice note will discuss foreign trade zones (FTZs) in the United States. FTZs are geographic areas proximate to a U.S. Customs Port of Entry in which companies can use special customs procedures and enjoy tariff relief. This note will address, among other things, the eligibility criteria, application process, and benefits of participating in FTZ programs.
