This practice note provides an overview of the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) labeling requirements under the (1) Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, (2) Textile Fiber Identification Act, (3) Wool Products Labeling Act, (4) Fur Products Labeling Act, (5) Care Labeling Rule, (6) Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and (7) Energy Labeling Rule. This practice note also discusses labeling requirements for tobacco products. Practitioners should note that labeling of tobacco products was formerly regulated by the FTC, but is now subject to the oversight of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
