This practice note will address, among other things, the prior notice requirements imposed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (21 U.S.C. § 301 et seq.) for food imported into the United States, including the scope of and exceptions to the prior notice requirements, the timing of notification, information to be included in the notification, methods of submitting the notice, and the consequences of failing to provide proper prior notice.
