Event Sponsorship Agreement
(Pro-sponsor)
Summary
This template is an event sponsorship agreement that can be used by a party producing an event (the promoter) looking to grant another party the right to sponsor the event (the corporate sponsor). It is drafted in favor of the sponsor. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and alternate clauses. Event sponsorship agreements vary in length and complexity depending on many factors, including the type of event, number and types of promotional rights granted to the sponsor, type of sponsorship fees, and degree of exclusivity, if any. The promoter typically organizes, oversees, and runs the event while the sponsor provides financial backing and some of the advertising materials for the event. This document is intended to be used solely by U.S. parties engaging in business in the U.S., as foreign agreements are far more complicated and require additional compliance with international laws, rules, customs, and regulations governing business transactions in general, including those affecting the enforceability of judgments and governing law. For additional guidance on sponsorship agreements, see Sponsorship Agreements and Event Sponsorship Agreement Checklist.
