Summary

IMPORTANT: On April 23, 2024, the DOL announced a new final rule which raised significantly the salary thresholds for businesses to continue to classify their employees as exempt from for overtime eligibility pursuant to the executive, administrative, professional, and highly compensated employee exemptions. On November 15, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas set aside and vacated the DOL's final rule on a nationwide basis. For further discussion, see below.
