EU Council Approves Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

Summary

This article discusses the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD or Directive), approved on March 15, 2024, by the European Council (the same text was approved by the EU Parliament on 24 April 2024 and is now final). The CSDDD will require large EU and non-EU companies to identify and address human rights and environmental impacts in their operations, supply chains and parts of their downstream value chains.
