Summary

This drug and alcohol testing policy provides a standard drug and alcohol testing policy for Alabama employers. Employers may include this policy in an employee handbook or distribute it as a standalone document. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and optional clauses. It is intended for private employers who participate in the Alabama Department of Labor's Drugfree Workplace Program under Code of Ala. § 25-5-330. The Drugfree Workplace Program offers a five (5) percent insurance premium discount for those employers who establish a drug-free workplace. This Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy (AL) has been customized to comply with Alabama state and federal law, as well as the Alabama Drugfree Workplace Program.
