This template is a domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking victims leave policy that sets forth victims' rights to under Philadelphia's Entitlement to Leave Due to Domestic or Sexual Violence Ordinance, Phila. Code § 9-3201 et seq. It also governs employees' obligations when requesting leave. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and an optional clause. This template is intended for private employers. Employers may include this policy in an employee handbook or distribute it as a standalone policy. It is based on Philadelphia and federal law only. The state of Pennsylvania does not have a law that requires private employers to provide leave to employees who are victims of domestic violence.
