Domain Name Escrow Agreement

Summary

This template is a domain name escrow agreement. It should be used where a domain name that is the subject of a sale is placed in escrow with an escrow agent, who agrees to transfer the domain name to the purchaser upon the purchaser's payment of the sale price. This template includes practical guidance and drafting notes. This template is always used in conjunction with a domain name purchase agreement. Two separate forms are necessary because the purchase agreement is between just the buyer and seller and the escrow agreement is between the escrow agent, the buyer, and the seller. For more information on domain name transfers, see Registration, Renewal, and Transfer of Domain Names — Domain Name Transfer. For a sample purchase agreement, see Domain Name Option and Purchase Agreement
