Destination Control Statement Clause

Summary

This destination control statement (DCS) clause provides the minimum text that should be included on commercial invoices, bills of lading, airway bills, or other export documents when goods are exported from the U.S. The person preparing the export documents is responsible for the inclusion of a DCS. This clause includes practical guidance and drafting notes. The DCS (15 C.F.R. § 758.6) is required for all exports from the United States of items on the Commerce Control List, except those that are classified as EAR99. For more information regarding the export of certain products and technologies, see ITAR, EAR, and FTR Fundamentals — The Export Administration Regulations and Complying with U.S. Export Control Regulations Checklist.
