Summary

This practice note summarizes the types of notices that administrators of defined benefit retirement plans that are subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) must provide to participants on a periodic basis. Notices that defined benefit plan administrators must provide upon the occurrence of certain plan or certain participant events are covered in separate practice notes and are not included here.
