Corporate Name Change Checklist (OBCA)

This checklist identifies the steps required in completing a change of corporate name under the Ontario Business Corporations Act, including choosing the name and obtaining a name search report, preparing a special resolution of shareholders, consents and articles of amendment, and filing the articles with the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services. It also sets out post-name change matters such as updating any registrations, changing letterheads, and updating corporate registers and ledgers.
