Summary

This checklist sets out the legal issues to consider prior to registering copyright in a work in Canada. It also reviews the process for filing an application and the information required to complete the application. Copyright in any literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work may be registered in the Register of Copyrights maintained by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office ("CIPO").
