(Changing Dispositive Provision of Will) (CA)
Summary
This template is a codicil, which may be used to change an existing dispositive provision in a will in California. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, alternate clauses, and optional clauses. For illustrative purposes, this codicil revokes the existing provision and substitutes the full text of the new provision in its place. It states that any death taxes attributable to the property being added by the codicil will be apportioned in accordance with the apportionment scheme specified in the will itself. It confirms and republishes the will except as specifically changed by the codicil. If desired, the drafter may alter this template to substitute other dispositive will provisions, modify non-dispositive provisions of the existing will, or add other non-dispositive provisions to the will. If this template is used for either of the latter two purposes, Section , relating to payment of death taxes, should be deleted, and Section renumbered to Section .
