This practice note considers standard policy terms, limitations, and exclusions implicated by rioting, civil commotion, vandalism, and/or looting in connection with incidents of civil unrest. Further, this practice note explores how the cause of loss may impact the applicable policy deductibles and other issues that may arise between policyholders and insurers concerning the interpretation of key policy terms.
