CCPA/CPRA Compliance: Responding to Consumer Data Correction Requests Checklist


Summary

This checklist addresses how a business can comply with the requirement set out in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA), to enable consumers to correct inaccurate personal information that the business maintains about them. Under the CCPA/CPRA, consumers have a statutory right, at any time, to request that a business that maintains inaccurate personal information about them correct that inaccurate personal information, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purpose of processing the personal information. Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.106(a).
