Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy
(FL)

Summary

This template is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy to be adopted by an employer in Florida that allows employees to use their devices for work. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and an alternate clause. This template is intended for private employers. Employers may include this policy in an employee handbook or distribute it as a standalone policy. The state of Florida does not appear to have a specific law addressing the use by employees of their own devices for work. Please make sure to check relevant state and local laws. If an employer chooses to adopt a BYOD policy, the employer should not only include it in the handbook but also distribute it to each employee as a standalone policy with its own employee acknowledgement. The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy Acknowledgment template should be signed and placed in the employee's personnel file.
