Assignments of Copyrights


Summary

Ownership of intellectual property is transferred by means of an "assignment" agreement. An assignment is the legal transfer of ownership in and to the intellectual property from the owner (the Assignor) to a second party (the Assignee). The Assignor typically assigns all right, title, and interest in and to the intellectual property to the Assignee and the Assignee assumes all of the Assignor's rights, obligations, and privileges in same.
