Ancillary Proceeding (Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Glossary)

A proceeding that is related to a proceeding in another court, or a proceeding that is subordinate to another action. In the bankruptcy context, a chapter 15 case is ancillary to a primary proceeding brought in another country, typically the debtor's home country.
