(1)

The practical training experience required prior to licensure shall be referred to as externship/internship.

(2)

All interns/externs shall apply for a permit with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy. The permit shall expire on December 31 of odd numbered years. Initial permit fee and renewal fee shall be fifty dollars ($ 50). All interns/externs shall pay the renewal fee biennially with this fee being due on October 31 and delinquent after December 31 of odd numbered years. If any intern/extern shall fail to pay a renewal fee on or before December 31 of any year, such registration shall become null and void.

An extern/intern permit shall be limited to those persons who are actively engaged in meeting the academic or practical experience requirements for licensure examination. In order t be considered enrolled in a school of pharmacy, a person shall not be absent from school for more than two (2) consecutive semesters or three (3) consecutive quarters.
