The name of every Texas corporation must contain the word “company,” “corporation,” or “incorporated,” or an abbreviation of one of these [Tex. Bus. Orgs. Code § 5.054(a)]. A professional corporation or foreign professional corporation may use the phrase “professional corporation” or the initials “P.C.” in its name instead of one of the words or abbreviations listed [Bus. Org. C. § 5.054(c)]. The name of a domestic of foreign professional entity must not be contrary to a Texas statute or regulation that governs a person who provides a professional service through a professional entity or foreign professional entity, including a rule of professional ethics [Bus. Org. C. § 5.060].
