Summary
This template is a video teleconferencing policy that sets forth guidelines and clear expectations for employees who lead and/or attend video teleconferences. This policy will be especially helpful for telecommuting employees, remote workers, and individuals working from home. This template contains practical guidance, drafting notes, and alternate and optional clauses. Employers may include this policy in an employee handbook or distribute it as a standalone policy. It is intended for private employers. The template is a non-jurisdictional policy that complies with federal law. The policy provides guidance on key video virtual meeting issues, including, but not limited to: best practices for video calls (e.g., advice on backgrounds; best way to set up camera); guidance on proper and improper conduct and etiquette; guidance on recording calls (including getting adequate permission); and privacy, security, and confidentiality issues.
