Summary

This template is a will for a married or a single individual that pours over to a revocable trust. Use it for an Illinois client to make specific gifts of personal property to beneficiaries and to direct the residuary estate to an existing revocable trust. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, alternate clauses, and optional clauses. This will is for use in conjunction with a revocable trust often created at the same time as, but executed prior to, the will. However, the existing trust may be amended thereafter, and such amendment will not invalidate the devise to the trust. See 755 Ill. Comp. Stat. 5/4-4.
