This practice note addresses best practices for drafting policies on computers, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. Like equipment and supplies, employers may provide their employees with electronic devices (such as desktop computers, laptops, and smartphones) so that they may effectively carry out their job duties and responsibilities. The type(s) of devices issued will depend upon the job each individual holds. However, all such devices are company property.
