Summary

This template can be used by a seller of goods or service provider to pay compensation, also known as a finder's fee, to an individual or entity that provides it with referrals or introductions to customers that result in a sale of the seller's goods or services. This template includes practical guidance, drafting notes, and alternate and optional clauses. The party making the referral receives compensation for any referrals that result in actual sales. This type of arrangement is often used when a business wishes to compensate a party who has connections in a particular business or industry and is willing to use those connections to generate business for the seller or service provider.
