In-House Applicability of ABA Model Rules and Miscellaneous Provisions

Summary

The practice of law in the United States is generally governed by a set of rules adopted within each state (or other jurisdiction) by such state’s (or other jurisdiction’s) highest court or, where applicable, state bar association. There is no unified system of practice rules applicable throughout the United States, and the rules applicable to any individual attorney must be examined based on the jurisdiction(s) in which the attorney engages in the practice of law.
